John & Elizabeth Forbes both born in Scotland around 1821 or so. Had six children John Jr., Robert, Arthur, Jennie, David, William. I have had success tracing their families, just seeing if anyone out there may have some good information i don't have.

Re: Forbes family in Stratford, Ontario
Hi Sandy! It is nice to hear the background of your family. My great grandfather was William Forbes. He was born in Stratford in 1859 to John Forbes & Elizabeth Patton. He was the youngest. The Jennie you speak of was his sister and yes the cottage is named after her. He left for Texas in the U.S. sometime around 1880. His brother David Thomas Forbes also came to Texas around that same time. William worked in the railroad industry in San Antonio, TX. So that is how our family ended up in Texas! Would love to hear more from you!
