Hi, I have some info on Fanny (not Frances) Alborough. She was born 6th September, 1845 in Willesden, Middx., Her parents were Elizabeth Freeman, born 1798 in Birmingham, Warwicks, my 3 x Gt. Grandmother, and Richard Alborough, born abt. 1802, East Carlton, Norfolk. Richard was her second husband, her first, Henry Doe, was my 3 x Gt. Grandfather but Richard is also related to me, he is my Gt. Gt. uncle.
Fanny was living with her parents and her daughter Lucy, born 1870, Hammersmith, in Harlesden, Middx. in 1871. I think Joseph may have already gone out to Canada by then. In 1881 she is living in Brampton, Peel, Toronto, Canada with Joseph, a labourer and their daughters. The eldest Lucy must have died as they have another daughter Lucy, born 2/9/1873 in Peel. Also Mary Ann, 4/10/1876, Annie 7/2/1878, Alice, 26/9/1879. Susan 27/6/1884 and Emma 26/12/1885. Joseph died 22/5/1893 in Peel and Fanny remarried to a Brigham Dennison, 16/11/1895 in Peel. He died 14/6/1901 and she died aged 92 in Peel, 16/1/1937. I don't have anymore on Joseph as yet, although I think he was born around 1842. Hope this helps,
Frances

I don't have any information that directly bears on your query. However, the village in Peel County in which your ancestors lived was/is called Huttonville rather than Hattonville. This is likely a transcription error. Nonetheless I hope this clarification will assist you in your search of you family's history.

All information from Ancestry.ca unless otherwise stated

On Harry's marriage registration it gives his father's name as James Hodge, mother as Elizabeth Yule.
There are a lot of John Hodges on the site, born Scotland, all around the same time so I don't know which is which.
Marriages, passenger lists, etc
From the 1901 Scotland census they to have been born in Forgan, Fifeshire, St Andrews Fifeshire and Lochee Forfarshire. They are living in Angus County.

Both John and Sidney may be on WW1 Attestation papers.
I don't think they are the same family. Our William & Mary settled in the Port Credit area. This was in Toronto Township, Peel County & most of the family remained there.
I don't have a Madora Duck in my family tree.

Sorry

There are a couple for Thompson and several others for Thomson but they seem not relevant to your ancestral family. No listings for Chester or Henderson found.

Suggestion: http://www.ogs.on.ca/services.php The Ontario Genealogical Society has, on its website, several thousand names on file with cemetery listings province-wide. It isn't complete but it might be worth a try. (I found, as cemetery, township & county names or boundaries for the latter may change over time, if the surname is uncommon, I put that in first and then narrow down the search with additional information.

Hope this helps. Good Luck in your quest!
Greetings from Peel County. I just came across an old posting of yours regarding John Patterson in Peel county.

John Patterson b Nov 16,1831 married one of the girls from right next door..Anne Jane Carson b1834...a daughter of Charles & Anne-Jane Carson (originally from Armagh Ireland).
I guess it was a good union because Johns younger brother James did the SAME thing! He married Anne Jane's sister Margaret Anne Carson b1842.
My GGGrandfather was a brother to both of those girls...David Carson. I wonder if David Carson Patterson was named after my GGGfather?
I realize that I don't qualify as a "direct descendant"
but I thought you might like to know you have some very distantly related "cousins" still in Peel county.
Keith Carson keith_carson@hotmail.com

In doing some initial research of my mother's side of my family, I find that she comes from the Duck family. Her great-grandmother was Madora Duck, born about 1839 to William and Mary Duck. This is quite possibly the same family about whom you were writing. My mother's family comes from the Welland/ southern Ontario area. Any further information you have on William and Mary duck would be most welcome.

I am looking for a few obituaries for some people that lived in Chinguacousy or Brampton. It appears from looking at the Brampton Library webpage that the newspaper called The Globe and Mail can be looked up on the computer. I was thinking that the obits I am looking for might be in that newspaper. If someone could look up a few obits for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

The people I am looking for are:
Nevin McConnell died 29 Dec 1885
William McConnell died 27 Dec 1863
Agnes McConnell nee Smith died in 1876
Re: Moss Family of Erindale

Hello,

My name is Nicole and I am working with Heritage Mississauga, a non-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving local history.

I just recently found your message, and I was wondering if you had any additional information about the Conover family, specifically their brewery at Erindale.

While searching for information about the Conovers, I have found that a John Moss purchased land from Samuel Conover in 1858 (Lot 33, Concession 1 SDS, Toronto Township, Peel County).

Any information you provide will be used in relation to an upcoming publication by the organization on the many small villages of Toronto Township/Mississauga. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your time,
Nicole

Archibald Sinclair and Euphemia Beaton Chinguacousy, Peel

Looking for info on Archibald Sinclar b.1791 and his family. He married Euphemia Beaton b.1814 and had two sons Donald B.1848 and Neil b.1850 and a daughter of Euphemia from her first marriage Flora b.1837. Flora married Duncan McDonald. I Think Archibald died between 1851 and 1861 as he is not with them in the 1851, 1861 and 1871 Census living in Chinguacousy, Peel. In the 1881 Census Euphemia is living with Neil and his wife Elisa Ann Henry, I do not have any info on Donald. I would like Archibald and Euphemian Marriage date, Archibald's Death date and if possible Donald and Neil's Birth Dates. I do not know what church they went to but in the 1851 census it says they are Deciples.
