Surnames: Orr, Dennison, Shea, Wright, Clunis, Faulkner
From Ancestry.ca
Eliza [Orr] Dennison 1501 King St W Toronto, widow, aged 85, b Blenheim, d/o Robert Orr and Mary Shea both b Ireland, died 21 Jan 1930 of myocardial failure/senility, informant: Daughter, Mrs R Wright of same address, burial: Necropolis Toronto 23 Jan 1930. Registration #001170.

Robert and Eliza's son Frances Dennison died 1928 and is buried in Dixon.

Eliza Dennison, 32, and daughter Martha J, 8, are on 1881 census. It says Eliza is married but no sign of James. She is listed as servant with John and Mary Clunis in Chinguascousy.
Martha Jane Dennison, 25, d/o James and Eliza married Rudolph Wright, 25, s/o John and Mary Ann in Toronto 24 May 1900.
Eliza is not living with Martha on 1901 or 1921 census in Toronto.
1911 census an Eliza Dennison, 62,is domestic in Caledon, Peel Tsp with William Faulkner. She is listed as single.
James maybe died between 1873 and 1881. I didn't find him on 1881 census. Did find a James Danison living in Caledon but not him as his wife is Sarah and he has more children.
If James died mid 70s he may not have been registered but the cemetery should still have some kind of a record if he was buried in Dixon's even if there is no headstone.

Hi there,

Thanks for you help- I do have all of this information though..As I have done extensive researchon this family and most of the branches..I was hoping for a Newspaper obituary or death record or burial record for any of these people.

Yes, Robert & Eliza & sons Alex and Frank are buried at Dixon union Cemetery..Apparently Robert's brother John is there too- But he died about 1850 and it says first burial was 1857 there. Unless they were not aware there were previous burials. I am working on getting some kind of record of johns death?

I did find a James Danison/Denison/Dennison- who died 6 Jan 1885- one record says Bruce and the other says Ottawa? But it is so-vague I can really be 100% certain it is James (born 1846/47- son of James & Mary Ann (Mcbride) Dennison??

I also found a Mary Ann Dennison- who died in Middlesex 1900- but again not sure it is the right person?Name: Mary Ann Dennison
Gender: Female
Birth Year: abt 1825
Birth Place: Ireland
Age at Death: 75
Death Date: 26 Oct 1900
Death Place: Middlesex, Ontario, Canada
===================================================

and another possible match?

Name: Eliz Denison Event Type: Burial Event Date: 03 Aug 1872 Event Place: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Age: 50 Birth Year (Estimated): 1822 Birthplace: Ireland Cemetery: Necropolis Cemetery Cemetery Section and Lot: E 61 Plot Owner's Name: W Coulter Volume Date Range: Volume 04, 1869-1873 Line Number: 2343 , GS Film Number: 1617040 , Digital Folder Number: 004455461 , Image Number: 00467

Would you be able to find out any more information about these deaths - Then maybe I can rule them out of my tree?

I am hoping you or someone out there can help ?

Thanks Jay

Hey thanks Steve,

I am really looking for John Dennison & his wife Catherine ( Alexander or Ingram) Dennison and James (sr) and his wife MaryAnn (McBride) Dennison..And also Eliza ( Orr) Dennison's husband James (Jr) (son of James & Maryann)

I was told there might be something in the "Orangeville Sun"Newspaper for Maryann and James (jr) not sure about James (sr)..

James (sr) was to have died in Aug 1869- in Caledon but we are not able to find anything for him- even though he was an elder at The Caesar church in Caledon .

If you are able to find anything more that would be wonderful :)

Thanks again

I just found out that there are Dixon Union cemetery records- which show unmarked graves - It is not the same information as the Cemetery map. I am told that John Dennison who died 1850 is buried in Dixon Cemetery..He is not listed on the Cemetery list, nor the cemetery map.. Does anyone have the burial records for this cemetery ??

I am also told that Perhaps Mary Ann and her son James Dennison may have newspaper writeup- from coroners report in the "Orangville Sun"- does anyone have access to this paper? I guess it would be for the years 1871-1885\

Thanks alot
J
