Seeking Photos of WW2 veterans, West Parry Sound. Museum on Tower Hill

In connection with a project being undertaken by the Museum on Tower Hill and the Parry Sound High School, we are seeking photographs (preferably in digital format) of WW2 vets who have a connection to Parry Sound and surrounding municipalities. Please respond if you have veterans in your family history and would like to share photographs.
Thanks
Susan Murphy

I have photos of WW2 Veterans taken at Nobel. Some are my cousins. What does this have to do with Parry Sound High School? Present high school on Isabella Street wasn't in existence at that time & whether these men went to high school or not I don't know nor do I know where the high school was at that time! My father & family were from Carling having arrived in that area about 1870. I don't have digital format but have scanned jpg photos. Please advise.

Having read the first message re WW2 photos, it says it is a project of the high school.

Hi Cpress, thanks for your response.

The P.S. High School and the Museum on Tower Hill did an event and exhibit together - a Community Remembrance Project - in November. It was great, and was attended by many area veterans. In connection with the project, the Museum is collecting photos, artifacts, stories, whatever is out there. A secondary purpose is to collect photos for the Carling Township collection (that's where I live), so I'm interested to hear what you have and might be willing to share to help build our local collection.

In the spring there will be a second event when the high school students return from their trip to Vimy Ridge.

There is an article here: http://www.muskokaregion.com/news-story/4194251-students-mus...

“We’re asking the community to bring their memories, pictures or artifacts to the museum – anything connected to the people in this area who served in the Second World War,” Lund said. “The museum will collect the material, create a permanent archive, store it at the museum and it will be used for future exhibits and it will also be used for research for museum staff or high school students or for the public.”

You could email me: susanmurphy@carlingtownship.ca if you'd like to help with the Carling collection - I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!
