Look up headstone Samuel Willson b1794 d1876 old Brick Cemetery, Norwich Ontario

I visited Ontario several years ago. i wrote down date of Samuel Willson's death as 1876 but failed to take a photo of it and I need evidence. I think his wife Sally Ann Willets Willson died 1866 and is also buried there.
I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks

I had a look at the OGS transcriptions for that cemetery on microfilm. It only shows Sally Ann as being buried there, but I can't find Samuel.

Sally Ann's transcription reads:

SALLY ANN / wife of / Samuel Wilson / died Jan 31 1863 / age 64 yrs 1 mo 21 d.

Thank you is so much! The fact that you could not find death info for Samuel is important. So many folks have the incorrect info . I myself am at a loss as to the notation I made about his date of death in which I said "I copied it from the headstone." Unfortunately, I can not find a photo of the headstone.. it would be really helpful if someone might have a photo of his wife's headstone, Sally Ann Willson. As i reviewed the transcription from her headstone I notice that her death date actually follows his name..(SALLY ANN / wife of / Samuel Wilson / died Jan 31 1863 / age 64 yrs 1 mo 21 d.) I suppose it may be misread by me or others. I certainly appreciate your help as well as that of the other person who so graciously checked up on this as well. If you are close to the cemetery, any chance you could take a photo? Judith

Someone else has already photographed the cemetery

However I can't find Sally's grave. It could be one of the "unknown" photos that has become illegible over time. The OGS transcriptions were done a long time ago so perhaps it was legible then (but barely) and the dates were misread?

By the way, here they are in the 1861 census

Samuel Willson is supposed to have died in 1866, not 1876. I'm hoping to finally go to Norwich in January as it is not too far from where I live.

I descend from Juely Elma Mariah (spelled various ways) Willson. On the 1871 census she stated she was of German descent. Her brother Solomon also said he was of German descent on the 1871 census. Since none of the genealogies that are reputable say that either the Willsons or the Willetts were German that means either Juely and Solomon were wrong or that the Willson and/or Willett genealogy is wrong. Can anyone clarify this?

First of All.....Thank you for responding.
Secondly: I too descend from Guly Elma Maria Willson ( Guliema, Julie, e.tc). She is my 2nd GGGrandmother. Sarah Alice Chambers my GGandmother, Leonard Watson my Grandfather. Pauline Watson is my mother. I would be interested sharing info if you like.

Now about Samuel Willson, I think there is no way they are of German Descent... They were from a family of Quakers who came to the Americas sometime between 1681-1761 to New Jersey and they later came to Canad sbetween 1794 -1821.. He married in Dumfries, 1821 to Sally Ann Willets. They came from England. Lot of records exist i think to verify this.

Most of these posts have been to clarify the date of Samuel Willson's death. Which i feel i understand better now. I will post my thoughts on his page in my tree.
