Hello,
I am searching to see if anyone has a good map showing the "lay of the land" in that era. I have many family members in the Ingersoll area, however they migrated through the area.

thanks!
Joe

Hi Joe,
Have you seen the website? If you click on the township you want, you get that map showing the owners of the Lots. There is also an Index of people.

I Hope this helps.

Above is a link to the Archives of Ontario website for newly digitized Patent Plans. This link specifically shows map from 1851 for Ingersoll / Oxford, with land owner names...little hard to read but may give you some insight into the area.

Lots of other maps for Ontario but I found it a little difficult to search. General website link is

Jean and Susan,

Thank you both for the great tips! I've already located a couple plots and will look further for deeds based on those maps.

Hope you both had a great holiday!
Joe
