Schermerhorn, Lawrence and Jane -- 1842 and forward

On 11 Dec 1842, Lawrence Schermerhorn married the widow of George Fritch Jr (Jane Clarke). Both Jane and Lawrence resided in Blenheim Township.

I've located the three children of George and Jane (William Allen, John Wesley, and Mary Ann Fritch) residing with other families in Oxford and Brant Counties in the 1851 Census. However, I've been unable to find any record of Lawrence or Jane after their 1842 marriage.

Does anyone have any information about what happened to Lawrence and Jane Schermerhorn?

1851 census Blenheim Oxford County Ontario

SCHREMMERHORN
Laurence, b USA, widow, 60
Rachel, 22, Canada West
Nancy, 18, CW
John, 16, CW
Nicholas, 14, CW
Walter, 9, CW
Melinda, 6, CW

Walter and Melinda belong to Jane?

Don't see Laurence on 1861 census. There is only one Schermerhorn family in Oxford on that census and it isn't any of the above names.

See on Ancestry.ca several marriages of children of John Wesley Fritch.
William Allen Fritch b 5 Feb 1838 died 10 Feb 1922, father given as George Fritch, mother unknown.

Thanks, I definitely missed that entry by just using search and changing the surname somewhat. Guess I am just going to have to use the line-by-line search method I once used with viewing microfilms at NARA.

Yes, I will have to trace Walter and Melinda forward to seek a direct record connecting them with Jane. Yet with Jane not listed in the 1851 census, and her three older children living with other relatives, this is the point I would love to pop back and ask family "what happened?".

I do have a lot of information - both records and 'family traditions' - dealing with William Allen Fritch (my great grandfather) and his brother and sister. Also the ancestors of this family. I have followed the Fritch family from Philadelphia to New York City (1779) to New Brunswick (Spring, 1783), and on to Oxford County (1831), to points west, even one line to Tahiti. However, what happened to Jane after George's death has been a puzzle.

Again, thanks for the assist.

William Allen Fritch's mother was Jane Clark who happens to be my gg grandaunt(my gg grandfather George Wallace Clark's sister). Is there some way of contacting you to exchange some info? Thanks.
