British Columbia Vital Statistics website has a death for a John Herbert Shouldice on 19 June 1971, aged 59, in Victoria, British Columbia. Getting a copy of the death record may indicate if he was married or not.

I also found the WWII Enlistment Record for a John H. Shouldice in California on 23 February 1943, born about 1911, living in Sacramento, married, gives his occupation as an athletic instructor or skier.

I found the three kids, Gordon, John & Harold all arriving in Seattle, in 1920, bound for Aptos, California; giving their father, Henry H. Shouldice in Vancouver, as their next of kin. Headed for their Aunt, Mrs. Eileen Thorburn, of Aptos, California.

Their mother must have passed away, and Henry (Harry) was sending the boys to their aunt. Gordon was born in Maymont, Saskatchewan, and the other boys were born in Vancouver.

Hi there,

I don't have much info on John Shouldice, except that he married my grandmother sometime after 1966, and was married to her when he died.

Cheers,

Colin

If you have a picture I would like to see what he looks like. I have a immigration paper from canada where john and his parents and 2 brothers came into canada. I have no information on he and my mother being married but his name is on my birth certificate and I would love to find out if he is the same person..He lived in Portland, Oregon in 1938 when I was born and I believe he worked in a theater or was in that business for awhile. Please e-mail me directly if you would like. sgnldy@hotmail.com would like to find out any info available..thank you for replying..B.J. also when did he pass away?
