Hi Bob

Well it doesn't seem that there is a tie to our two families. The Brockman is my husband's maternal side of the family. Her name was Cora Brockmann, father Frederick and mother Amanda Kraus. Frederick's father was William Frederick Brockmann. Fred and Amanca were married in 1889 and Fred's siblings were William, Richard, Mina, Marie and Louisa.

These don't seem to fit with any of yours.

Let me know if you think there is a fit.

Bev

My grandfather, Walter Byron Chase, lists Eliza Longfield as his mother on his marriage certificate. He lists John Chase as his father. Walter was raised by his grandmother, Barbara Chase, according to the census documents. My question is this: Is Eliza Longfield one of Barbara Chase's daughters? Did she have Walter out of wedlock and leave him with his mother to raise? Or was Eliza married to John Chase (who married Mary Ramsay in 1881)? And then did she marry Mr. Longfield? There is a Jane Chase listed as one of Barbara's daughters. Her birth date is January 11 or 16th (hard to read) and either 1864 or 1866. Could this be Eliza Jane Chase? I can't find a birth record for Eliza Jane Chase nor a marriage record for her. I also can't locate a birth record for my grandfather, Walter Byron Chase. Do you have any information that may help me in my search, please.

Barbara Chase was Eliza Jane's mother. Her father was John Chase. Barbara was born Barbara Moore. I have a lot more information on her and her family if you'd like it, Ross. Thank you for sending Eliza Jane's birth and death dates. Did you find them in the Ontario Birth and Death records? Sounds like she was Barbara's daughter and probably had my grandfather out of wedlock before she married George Longfield.
If you like, we could correspond via our emails rather than this site. It's up to you. We could talk via telephone too.
Thanks so much for the information. Do you have more facts about Eliza Jane? I'd be very grateful for anything you can share.
Cheers. Arlena

Ross,
Did you get my last message about Barbara - that she was Eliza Jane's mother? Do you have any more information about Eliza Jane that would help me in my search for family?
Thanks.

Barbara Chase is my great great grandmother - so we're cousins! I'm not sure who you mean by Mary. Could you give me more information, please?
