Thank you so much for replying to my message. I have most of the census information and death regs. for Patrick and Catherine. I did not have any information about Catherine (nee Crowley) prior to her marriage to Patrick, nor John Giltenan's death reg. so that was very useful. FYI, I found the Giltenan family in the 1891 census under the surname Glidden and have requested a correction.
Still a couple of questions: Who is Raphael Giltenan 20 years in the 1871 census?
Also, in 1871 census Ann Giltenan, 60 yr old widow and her 3 daughters (Margaret, Ellen and Catherine) live just a couple of houses away from 60 yr old John Giltenan and his family. In 1883 Ellen Guiltenan married Andrew Walsh. The marriage reg. shows Ellen's parents were Patrick Guiltenan and Ann Quillan. Margaret Guiltenan married James Maddigan in 1879 and that marriage reg. also shows parents as Patrick Giltenan and Ann Quillinan. Do you know whether 60 yr old John Guiltenan was Patrick Guiltenan's brother?
Assuming John Giltenan and family immigrated to Canada in 1849 (per 1911 census), where was the family at the time of the 1851 census taking?
