Surnames: PIPER / JACKSON
Rebecca Rachel Piper (b. 10 March 1853, d/o Charles Piper and Elizabeth Ardel) was married to Raymond Summers Jackson when she was shot to death apparently by an old boyfriend on 21 June 1876, in Baysville, Muskoka, Ontario. I am looking for any information on the shooting such as newspaper write up, who shooter was, police report. Any thing to help fill in story of my 2nd great grandfather's first wife. Also, be interested in her obit, if one exits.

All I found was the death registration.

Buried Stoneleigh Anglican Cemetery Bracebridge Ont.

Here is a site for all hangings in Canada but I don't see Rebecca on the victim list.

Try the Huntsville Library. They have the Huntsville Forester microfilm copies but looks like they don't go as far back as 1876.

Thanks. I have her death record. Was just hoping that maybe there was some other kind of record on the shooting, but maybe not.
