Very interested in the ancestors and descendants of Samanth, daughter of John Brown O'Reilly of Wainfleet Twp
and wife of J.B. Shrigley, believed to have been in the lumber business in or near Dorset, ON.
Samantha was a writer but we have not been able to find more than one very nice poem (no date) she wrote about her
home in Wainfleet.
Any clue or guidance you would be willing to share will be sincerely appreciared. Thank you. LH

Don't see them on 1871 census but they may be in the US as Ida May was born there in 1873 according to census.
Don't see them on 1881 or 1891 census but if they were living in Muskoka, records for that time period aren't very good. I think in 1881, Muskoka would have been listed under Simcoe.

Hello Leone,
Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. My great grandfather Charles H. Burk's sister Elmira was married to Samantha's son Charles Shrigley. The Burks and Shrigleys were friends in Wainfleet, Welland County. The Burks went to Dorset Muskoka a few years after the Shrigleys. We will scan the poems in the next few days and send them to you.

You are very kind. We will receive any poem with deep gratitude. Until now the only poem found by my cousin was the one she wrote about her Wainfleet home. A trip 'home' apparently was the inspiration for it.

Samantha's grandfather was Patrick Reilly who lived in Wainfleet just about where they say O'Reilly's Bridge is today on the modern map. Would anyone in your family know the given or first name of Patrick's wife?? Records give us her surname and identify her father but somehow there is no record of her first name that we have been able to find.

Your offer to share Samantha's poetry with us is sincerely appreciated. Thank you. LH

Hi Leone,
My husband was just going to scan the poems but he said we would need your email. I would also send them in the mail if you like. I have seen information on Patrick O'Reilly before but am not sure if I have seen his wife's name. When I can I will try to find out.

Greetings:
My e-mail is leone_hinds@hotmail.com - the mailing address is 030683 Brethour Road, Belle Vallee, Ontario.
You are most kind to help us. I leave it to you as to your method of delivery. One thing I must say about delivery is that I live in N. Ontario, wilderness, trees and wild life. Our connection to internet facilities is not the fastest or, sometimes, the most reliable means of receiving large files. Sent in smaller amounts it should succeed.
Please do not put yourself to a lot of trouble about Patrick Reilly's wife. If it comes to hand easily one day, I would like to hear about it, but don't make special efforts to find it.

Thank you for your kindness. It is sincerely appreciated. LH
