Hello
Firstly, I hope we have the right thread, but if not, could a kind seasoned genealogist let us know so we can put the message in the correct one.
We am currently researching the Tandy family tree and would very much appreciate any information, etc. on Frederick Tandy. A few details below:
Frederick Tandy
Born: 23 Sept 1912, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England
Died: 26 Aug 1978 - London, Ontario, Canada
Fredericks Parents:
Frederick Tandy B: 1881 - D: 1918 (England)
Ethel Perkins: B 1884 - D 1960 (England)
Frederick's father was in the Royal Navy and died in 1918 from Spanish Influenza at the age of 37. It is presumed that after Frederick's father died, Ethel was no longer in a position to care for Frederick (he was the youngest of 3) and under the British Home Child/Child Migrant Worker Scheme he was sent by the British Salvation Army to the Salvation Army in Toronto via the SS Laurentic sailing from Liverpool. He arrived in Quebec on 1 June 1929.
We really would like to know more about Frederick and his life in Canada, be it good or bad. We would also be delighted to help in return with any information, documents, photographs etc. that we may have.
Many thanks
