I am following everything you are all posting here because I am interested in the Pringle line which I have worked on for ten years, but also in the Dibble families. I worked on Oren Dibble quite a bit and have always wondered who his parents were. I wonder if they were Eli Dibble and Rachel Lockwood- online genealogies for this couple have a daughter Lucy born 1790 and no one after that but Oren was born about 1793. The records online were from Danbury, CT., perhaps the Dibble's moved away from that area by the time Oren was born- does anyone know where and when Eli Dibble and his wife Rachel nee Lockwood died and were buried?

Ross do you have a birthdate for your Rachel? I found a Dibble genealogy online that says Rachel Dibble daughter of Eli and Rachel was born April 27, 1782 probably at Danbury, Connecticut. I have names of six children for Eli and Rachel taken from online "Danbury, CT Vital Records". This does not include Oren so I am still in the dark about his parents. However, is it significant that your William Pringle and Rachel Dibble had a son named Oren Pringle? When William and Rachel were married he (William Pringle) was living at (North) Fredericksburgh, she (Rachel Dibble) at Adolphustown. The last census I found Oren Dibble on, he was also living at North Fred.

Does someone have the name of husband for Lucy Dibble d/of Eli & Rachel? I have a Lucy Dibble in my files who fits to be same woman, married to Joshua Anderson.
