I descend through Joseph Pringle and wife Deborah Dafoe( then daughter Lucinda who married Samuel B Fuller& down through their son Joseph and his 2nd wife Mary Ann nee Davis).This is the Joseph that you see everyone putting the midname of Lockwood on( and yet- to date, I have not once come across any documentation indicating this is accurate/as well I am not seeing the name "Lockwood" appear in any of the currently known later generations ( the name Deobrah and Lucinda and both the male & female versions of Joseph along with Samuel are most distinct in later generations). I am also seeing some others who have said that Lockwood Pringle who married Sarah McNeal-daug of Francis and Rose McNeil- is a son of Joseph and Deborah- however again I have not yet come across any documentation for this so can't not verify or deny. However I again should think that given "Lockwood" is a most distinct name & most likely an ancestral surname of some sort and thus should appear elsewhere in the other known descendants of Joseph and Deborah and once again -there is nothing.

For those who are trying to research Lockwood of Elgin, I would suggest trying to follow some of the known children( he is also still at Elgin in 1861 as per the census for the area).
Some known children ( who appear on the 1851 Canada census at Elgin with Lockwood and Mary were Andrew, Francis, Rhuann,Charles):
Francis H married a Mary Jollife and died at Iowa
chilren are William, Thomas, George, Andrew Fletcher( married Libbie B Colier at Iowa in 1900)
Another son Charles died in 1916 at Holly, Michigan
