Classification: Query
Surnames: Sweet Milligan Scott Babcock Fox
Hi all,
I've been stuck with a brick wall on my Sweets of Lennox and Addington County, Ontario for a while now, so I've been trying to track down all the early Sweets (born pre-1830) of the area to find or disprove connections to my group and look for new leads. Here's a list of the early Sweets of the area that I know of - if any of them are your ancestors or you've come any more information about them or you know of a Sweet I missed, please let me know!

My Sweet group:
George Sweet b. 1819 Ontario d. 1868 Camden Twp, Ontario
m. Mary Amelia Milligan b. 5 Sep 1824 Ontario d. 8 Aug 1904 Strathcona (d/o Samuel Milligan & Kezia Lewis)
children:
James Sweet b. 15 Apr 1840
Samuel Milligan Sweet b. 8 Dec 1845
Thomas Douglas Sweet b. 18 Jul 1847
Keziah Jane Sweet b. 10 May 1848
Mary Sweet b. 1850
William Henry Sweet b. 25 Dec 1852

Mary Elizabeth Sweet b. 7 Aug 1817 Ontario d. 25 Sep 1914 L&A Cnty
m. Thomas Dudley Fox b.1802 d.1891
*I've heard claims that she could be George's sister, but no proof of this other than the two families lived beside each other in Camden Twp. on the 1861 census. A James Sweet was listed as her father on her death certificate (no mother listed), which is interesting since George named his oldest son James, but I have found no other reference or records of this James anywhere.

Stephen Sweet born late 1790's who married Nancy Thompson
children:
Susanna Sweet b.1816 in Richmond d. 1851 in Richmond married to Samuel Wees b. 1806 Ernestown.
George Sweet b. 1811
*Stephen Sweet owned 50 acres at Lot 5 Con 3 in Camden which he sold in 1837 to Andrew Russell. In 1861, according to the ag census, George Sweet is living on this lot, but apparently did not own it since he is absent from the land records.

Margaret Sweet b. abt 1790 m. John Scott on March 30, 1812, boh of Camden Twp, ON
*John Scott was the Son of Thaddeus Scott and Sarah Babcock; Sarah Babcock was the daughter of Samuel Babcock, UE b. 1735. The Mary Milligan who married George Sweet is also a descendant of Samuel Babcock through her mother's line.
* a John Scott was living next to George Sweet in 1851 in Camden but this is probably the John Scott of Scotland who was married to Helen Hume.

John Sweet b.1805 USA
