Was there a minimum marriage age in Ontario, Canada during the late 1800s? The reason that I ask is that most of our family members were married at the age of 19 or later even when we believe some of them to be younger than 19. It could result from confusion about their own birth year or it could have been due to their saying that they were older on their marriage documents. Does anyone know if there was a minimum marriage age then?
