Thankyou for your quick response to my inquiry.I was hoping that someone has been able to get more information on her parents. We have traced back to Jean and Rev. John and are aware that Willliam Stirling and Margaret Urie must be her parents although we were trying to go a different route for many years.Do you know if Gloriana was married? I understand there were also some sons. My great grandmother Catherine Climie is daughter of Jean's yougest son George Stirling Climie. Do you have all the information on our branch of the family?
I hope to hear from you again. Jeanette Long

Hi Jeanette, Sorry for not being so prompt with my reply to your latest enquiry but I've been busy with curling bonspiels (and still am) but I thought I would get a note off to you. I have no knowledge of Gloriana's marital status. However, the Mitchell Library in Glasgow is a good source. I got a lot of good stuff when I visited in 1996. George Stirling Climie was the son of John McKee Climie and Jean Sterling. He was b 18 Jun 1824 and d 11 Feb 1882 in Listowel, Ontario. He was married to Margaret Hay and he was my Great grand uncle as my Great grandfather was his older brother. They had 10 children, the first of whom was Kate b 1850. I have a sketch of Geo. Sterling & his obit if you want to contact me directly at wclimie@telus.net. Cheers, Bill

She was born Apr 17 1792 in Kirkintilloch, Dumbarton and she married John ARTHUR abt 1809.
