The Nova Scotia may have been entered as NS which sometimes is mistaken for US and in this case I think it should be US.
1891 census says Teena's father b Wales, mother b Ontario.
James Hugh Oneill died 27 Jan 1897 of liver cancer. Born Camden Tsp Kent County Ontario, informant: W A ONeill.
Methodist.
Tena Ann Oneill died 26 Dec 1897 of heart disease. Born Howard Tsp Reach County Ontario. WIdow. Informant was the doctor.
I don't know if there was a 'long form' or not in 1897 but if so, it may give parents.
Reach Township is in Ontario County which is over by Peterborough but Howard Township is in Kent County. Informant was confused re birth place? Likley born in Kent County.
If she was a native it may say so on a census.
Marriage rego for William ONeil, 23, born Michigan, s/o James and Tina married Harriet Hayward Rogers, 18, b England. 23 Aug 1883 English Church, Ridgeton Kent.
1870 census Michigan, they are all listed as 'white'. Don't find them on 1860 US census.
