I am looking for information regarding Tena Noah (may have been born Tena Marquette), who was married to James Hugh O'Neal. it was said she may have been adopted at a young age by the Delaware Indians in Canada. If anyone has any information about her or her parents I would love to know!

1881 census Bothwell County Ontario
ONEILL
James, 56, b 1825, Ontario, farmer, Methodist Episcopal, Irish origins
Teena Ann, 51 b 1830, Ontario, Welsh origins
William James, 28, 1853, Ont
Tolbert S, 22, b 1859, Nova Scotia, sailor
John Noah, 20, b 1861, NS, farmer
Emily Jane, 16, NS?
Warin Amsay, 16, NS? {William?]
Esther L, 13, NS?
Elley Connor, 7, Ontario
I cannot read the original [faded ink] so copied this from a transcription on Ancestry.ca
The Nova Scotia may have been entered as NS which sometimes is mistaken for US and in this case I think it should be US.

1891 census says Teena's father b Wales, mother b Ontario.

James Hugh Oneill died 27 Jan 1897 of liver cancer. Born Camden Tsp Kent County Ontario, informant: W A ONeill.
Methodist.

Tena Ann Oneill died 26 Dec 1897 of heart disease. Born Howard Tsp Reach County Ontario. WIdow. Informant was the doctor.
I don't know if there was a 'long form' or not in 1897 but if so, it may give parents.

Reach Township is in Ontario County which is over by Peterborough but Howard Township is in Kent County. Informant was confused re birth place? Likley born in Kent County.

If she was a native it may say so on a census.

Marriage rego for William ONeil, 23, born Michigan, s/o James and Tina married Harriet Hayward Rogers, 18, b England. 23 Aug 1883 English Church, Ridgeton Kent.

1870 census Michigan, they are all listed as 'white'. Don't find them on 1860 US census.

I relooked up the marriage and it does say John Oneil aged 23 married Harriet Hayward Rogers.
Don't know where I got the William from.
Witnesses were John Alexander and Ettie O Neil.
Sorry about that.

William was one of Johns older brothers, born in 1853, and it just so happens that I have been trying to research him as well. I have heard that he was married and had a son, but I am unable to locate documentation. If you have any information on him I would love to hear. He may have been married in ridgetown like many others in his family.
I truly appreciate all your help.
