Family records show my 3rd g.grandfather, John Gordon, served in the British Standard in N.Carolina under Lt.Col. McLeod during the Revolution and served again during the War of 1812 with his sons Michael, Aaron and John. His dau., Sarah (Gordon) Shippy, was my g.g.grandmother. Any info. regarding John's wartime service including rank and regiment would be most appreciated.
