Surnames: Abbott, Reeves, Rieves
Martha Reeves of Gosfield married David Abbott of Mersea
23 Feb 1848 witnesses Jackson Reeves, Catherine Orton
Rev. Nathan Parke presiding, Methodist Episcopal Church
Note from the Ontario Register, vol 3 1970 reprinted 1980

Martha Reeves had a brother George. Later both the Abbotts and George Reeves moved to Louisiana. George is also listed in the 1863 Muskegon County Draft list as a British citizen and exempt from the draft. Could these be related?
will share research. The Abbotts supposedly came from the New England area (New Hampshire and Vermont) into Kent County and then to the Pt. Pelee and Mersea area before moving into Michigan (1849). Any information on Abbotts in Kent county appreciated.

I believe Martha and George's last name was spelled Rieve. The furthest I've been able to trace them back was the 1861 Canada Census though. I believe they had other siblings, but I can't find anything prior. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!!
