Sorry I have no other info as to Levina's siblings but they could be related ? How would I lookup her siblings without her birthday or any other info. I tried the 1901 census but could not find them anywhere in the region of grandfathers birth. Thank you for replying and good luck in your search also. When did you say that family came to Canada?

Hello Christine
I have a William Cain born about 1876-1877. His parents were Wesley Caine and Elizabeth Nicholson. Not sure who William married, but they were from The Ridge. I believe this is the 1881 Census of them. Not sure what happened to father Wesley, but Elizabeth is a Widow on the Census.
1881 census

I was told from a pretty good source that Sarah and William were raised by David and Margaret Nicholson. Sarah took on the Nicholson name, William keep his name as Caine. Here is Sarah's marriage record.

Hello Christine
While I realize your post was made some time ago I thought I would try and contact you. While I don't have any insights on the Cane side of your family I have a significant amount of information on Lavina's lineage. Specifically I have information on Lavina's father's (George Hartley's) siblings and a wealth of information on Lavina's mother's (Lavina [Sr] Adams') family and ancestry.
I should also add that I have strong reason to believe that the information I have on Lavina's mother's side is known by a small number of researchers, however I am more than happy to share it with and any others that are interested.
Hope to hear from you. ---- R. Hartley
