Hi Marilyn
I just am now seeing this post and was wondering if you still have the pictures of the Allan headstones.
John Allan Sr. was a ggg grandfather. Are you related?
Have just discovered a lot of new info on the Allan family and suspect that a number of them are buried in Fairview.

Thanks for any help
Darla

I found a death record for a John Robert Van Fleet who died in Hamilton hospital Jan 1, 1936. He was to be buried in Milton, ON which is not that far from Acton. I believe his wife was Mary Mills, but he had a daughter, Mabel.
I also found a marriage for a son of John R. Van Fleet - James Albert - who married a "Mabel Tressa Thompson" in Halton 26 Jul 1924.
Could the names have been mixed up? Or maybe these are from a different family altogether.
This family was in Milton in the 1901 census.

I have Allan's in my family tree. A lot of them infact. And I am looking for more information regarding them. I know that George Allan, married Daisy O'Grady and they had 2 daughters. This is where my conncetion comes in. His oldest daughter was my great aunt. Velma Allan. Now I know the George Allan past on back in 1952, he is buried in Canton, OH. He had a step son, when he re-married Ethel Hickey. George Allan's parents were Catherine Curran and David ALlen. David Allan's parents were James Allan and Margaret Allen. Come from Scotland. If any of these sound like a connection pls let me know. Got lots more on them then this...thanks kimberly

Hi Kim
None of the names in your message have appeared in my research. My Allan side came from Scotland as well, there are several John's. The first John was married to Jane Moore and their children were David b: 1835; Helen Brown Allan b: 1840; Annie Shanks Allen b: 1845; John Allan Jr. b: 1850; Jane Ann Dodson Allan b: 1852 (my gg grandmother); William Edmund Allen b: 1855
Does this help you link with anything you have.
