I am researching the parents of my great grandfather George Travis Speck. George Travis b 1852 in Oakville. He married Francis Dempsey b 1860 Toronto Twp on Nov 8, 1876. Francis' parents were William Dempsey and Ellen Slade. It states on George and Francis's marriage record that his parents were George Speck and Hannah Speck and that the marriage took place in the County of Halton Division of Oakville. It also says that they were Methodist. Can anyone tell me of the name of the methodist church where they might have been married in 1876? There is no maiden name for Hannah. I believe George and Hannah came from Yorkshire England, but I can't verify this. Does anyone have any information on George and Hannah? I can't seem to find them on the census. I really would like to know Hannah's last name and where they came from. I don't know if George Travis had any siblings. If I could find this out, maybe it will say on their marriage record what Hannah's last name was. I am looking forward to hearing from anyone with any ideas. I am at a loss on how to proceed further.
