Thompson marriage/death and church records

I am researching an Eliza Thompson b. abt 1867/68 in Ontario living in the Harcourt area per the 1871 and 1881 censuses to see if she could be my g-grandmother, Eliza Lavina Thompson. Parents of Eliza Thompson of Harcourt were Richard Thompson b. 1828 England and Martha Ann Rodgers b. 1831 England. There time in Haliburton Co. is mentioned in the book "History of Indian Head and District Inc.", pg 703-704. I haven't found any marriage, death, census, or family tree records that indicate what happened to Eliza from Harcourt.

What I would like to know is whether there is any sources for church records in the area that could be researched for possible marriage or death records for Eliza. Her parents left Haliburton abt 1887, so the period 1881 to 1887 would be of the most interest.

Thank you,
Dan Harvey

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I didn't get a notice of your post even though I had checked the box.

Thanks so much for the info. Some I knew, some I didn't. Do you happen to know who officiated at the marriages of John Thompson (at St. Paul's Anglican in Minden) and Joseph Thompson (at St. George's Anglican in Haliburton)? I was provided with the marriage record for Mary Ann Thompson and Stephen Wallis from the Anglican Archives in Toronto, but not the others. For some reason it makes it easier for the Archives to search if they also the name of the clergy.

Also, the Anglican Archives found the baptismal record for Eliza Levinia Thompson at St. George's (1870 pgs 4 and 5) in Haliburton that I very strongly believe is the person I was looking for. The baptismal record also showed two siblings baptized at the same time (records below). So, far they haven't found a marriage record for Eliza, which would be the clincher, but maybe she moved with the family to Qu'Appelle and was married there??? Might be the next thing I will have to check.

Baptismal date: 25 Sept 1870
parents: Richard and Martha Thompson
Occup./residence: farmer; Dysart
Sponsor: parents
Minister: G. C. MacKenzie (Gordon Crawford)
date of birth
Sarah Eleanor 3 Sept 1864
Eliza Levinia 21 Nov 1867
Clarissa Aline 13 Mar 1870

Asssuming I have the right Eliza Thompson, she would have married Hugh John McMillan (b. abt 1864 in Ontario). The McMillan's were from the Prescott and Glengarry areas of Ontario. Their first born child, John Richard, was born in Montreal, but Hugh and Eliza eventually moved to Devils Lake, North Dakota where Eliza died in 1906 of tonsillitis. Nothing is known about what finally happened to Hugh McMillan including his death or where he is buried.

The Thompson's eventually moved to Indian Head, Saskatchewan and the history of the extended Thompson family in that area is mentioned in the book on Ourroots.com "History of Indian Head and District", Saskatchewan; re: Thompson Families starting on page 703.

I found a birth/baptismal record for Eliza Levinia Thompson, dau. of Richard and Martha Thompson through the Anglican Archives in Toronto. She and two siblings were baptized at St. George's Anglican Church (Church of England) in Haliburton. The record is below. I believe this very well could be the g-grandmother we have been looking for, hopefully.
The Archives is still looking to see if there is a marriage record for her and Hugh McMillan, the "silver bullet". It maybe that Eliza moved with her parents to Saskatchewan and she was married there.

Hmmm. The pictures of the birth/baptismal records isn't showing up.
