Re: McPhearson married Grassie
Hi Judith I think you were more correct on your other letter saying that George Grassie married Euphemia McCullogh. On the Marriage Registration for Agnes Grassie she states her mother's name as Euphemia McCullogh and her father as George Grassie.
From the Early Ontario Marriage Registers
#020022-03 (Wentworth Co): William Thomas LARKIN, 24, brick layer, England, Toronto, s/o John Henry LARKIN & Agnes Ann RITCHIE, married Agnes Gertrude GRASSIE, 22, Ontario, Binbrook twp., d/o George GRASSIE & Euphemia McCULLOCH, witn: Thomas LARKIN of Toronto & Edna GRASSIE of Binbrook twp., 10 June 1903 at Hamilton
I have been working on the Grassie family as my husband's 3rd great grandparents are William Grassie and his wife Ann Anderson. The connection that we have to this couple is George's sister Anne Grassie who married David "Hamilton" Jacobs. Their daughter Ada Jane Jacobs married Ed Travis. Their son Ellis Travis married Amelia Littler and they were the parents of my husband's mother Violet Travis. I do have other Grassie information if you are interested.
Regards, Donna

I see you showing Lee and Shaver as surname research. Would this be James Lee/Hannah Corman of Saltfleet? Son Samuel marries Anna Shaver, son John marries Catherine Shaver.
|
Hi Carol Yes it is the same Lee/Corman/Shaver line. My husband is the descendant of Annie Amelia Lee who was the daughter of Samuel Lee and Eliza Nelson. Annie Amelia Lee married Charles Fortman. Her father, Samuel, was William "Samuel" Lee who married Anna Shaver, and William "Samuel" Lee was the son of James Lee and Hannah Corman.

Which of Arthur Henry wives does your husband descend from-Jennie Watt or Mary Belle Young? I am through William Henry to Phoebe Swayze, their son David Murray Lee to Elizabeth Misener. Are you local to the Hamilton area?
|
My husband is connected to Arthur through his second wife Mary Bella Young. We live not to far from the original home of Arthur and his wives and his parents Charles and Amelia.

Re: McPhearson married Grassie
Hello Donna. Sorry I have not answered you sooner. I have got so far away from genealogy, and changed my address and emails a few times since. I am now just getting caught up. Seeing all the messages from so long ago. I don't see an Anne Grassie at all in my famiy tree, that is married to David "Hamilton" Jacobs at all. Though Anne Anderson and William Grassie are my relatives. Though I am not that far into it yet. It probably does connect to them. As yet I have not come across them names. Good luck in your searches. If I do see an association, I will be sure to contact you. ASAP
Have a great week!
