Christiana Bentson is my interest is this couple. She was a Treasury Loyalist who arrived in Kingston in 1792-94. In 1795, she was thought to be married and likely living in Ernestown. The first evidence I have that Christiana and Simon Swartz were a couple was 1804. Therefore, before that date there could easily have been other spouses. Simon Swartz of New York State sold the last of his Kingston land in 1824.

After I posted the query I did some checking on Simon Swartz.
In the Loyalist Claims he says his father was Henry, that he served in the war (Revolution) 6 1/2 years and he lived in Tryon Co. He also states his sister married Capt. Grass (most likely the Capt. of the British transport, Camel, that he was on when he left NY in 1783 with the Orser family) Claim says nothing about a wife!
