Surnames: McArthur
John McArthur, his wife Mary & his brothers, Charles, Peter and Finlay emigrated to Collingwood Township, Grey County, Ontario in 1850. John's parents were John & Catherine McLean. His parents were Finlay and Catherine Campbell, who ran a public house in Port Askaig, Isle of Islay. They moved to Islay from Loch Awe in about 1750?

John & Mary settled on Lot 9, Concession 6. The farm was in the family for over 100 years. The other brothers settled on Lot 17, Concession 7, Lot 16, Concession 6 and Lot 16, Concession 4.

John & Mary's son Donald was my great grandfather. His son, John, married Leola and they had one child, a daughter, Doris.

I'm looking for anything on any of the Scotland McArthurs, and have much information on the Ontario line to share.

Thanks
