McKim - Lawson homestead (Brayton home?) and burial in Addison

Surnames: McKim, Lawson
I am looking for information where Robert McKim (dob approx 1813, Scotland); and Margaret Lawson McKim (dob approx 1813, Cty Armagh, Ireland)lived in Addison. In a W.I. article, Helena Male says he built the house that Wilfred Brayton lives in. Does anyone know where this is. I would also like to know where they are buried. Apparenlty there is a cemetery near the large granary up the road from the Addison general store. Does anyone have the names of who may have been buried there. Margaret died in 1897 and Robert died 1885.
Robert and Margaret had 9 children and lived in Addison most of their lives.
Any help would be appreciated.
Charlene

Hi Charlene,
The 1851 census for Elizabethtown lists 3 McKim families: Robert b. 1812, wife Mary and 2 children; Andrew McKim b. 1783, wife Rebecca, 4 children; Robert McKim b. 1814 wife Margaret and 6 children. Robert and Margaret McKim and children are also listed in the 1861 and 1871 Elizabethtown census. They are also in 1881 Elizabethtown census with 2 sons. The OCFA has a Robert McKim buried at St. Edwards RC cemetery in Crosby North, Leeds County. Also a Margaret McKim buried at Brockville Old Protestant Cemetery in Elizabethtown.

Check out this website- it has some info and pics of Addison Greenbush, of interest is a pic of the Male house at Addison.

Attached is a map of Addison circa 1870 from the Digital Atlas Project. I plan to visit Addison next month and I will look for your Robert and Margaret McKim in the cemetery. Hope this helps.
Carolyn
