Records prior to 1835 --- Mooney and Wallace

I can trace my MOONEY and WALLACE families in census records of Kitley from about 1835 where they show up "West of Irish Creek" on Concession 5, lots 24-25. Yet I have a land record that says Robert MOONEY purchased Lot 7 in Concession 1 in July of 1834. Does this just simply mean he lived in one place yet owned in another...perhaps building on 7-1 before departing from 5-24? If Robert purchased this land from a William and Elizabeth Magee with a standard "B&S" note should I rule out a land grant search for Robert?

We have a family Bible from Robert's son with an inscription reading "Came to Canada from Armagh 1831." Does anyone have a notion of what records might be available from 1830-1834.

I may be heading to KEW this spring and didn't want to tackle British Military records without reviewing my work on Robert who I once suspected of being a Chelsea Pensioner. There is a Robert in the PROCAT records (WO 97/413/2) but I haven't followed this up other than determining that there is a listing for a Robert MOONEY in "British Army Pensioners Abroad 1772-1899" by Crowder but this looks like he didn't get the pension until 1851 after mustering out in 1831. Any idea about this one?

Many thanks for even taking the time to read this. All ideas welcomed about how to proceed from here.
