Hi.....

Does anyone know if the Taplin Cemetery in the Addison & Greenbush area of Leeds Co., ON has been transcribed & put on-line?

If it isn't on-line, does anyone have the transcription of this cemetery that wouldn't mind giving me the info on the Taplins that are buried there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Darlene

Hi....

Can someone confirm or dispute that these names all refer to the same cemetery -

Elgen Elbe, Leheigh/Lehigh, Taplin (Kitley Twp., Leeds Co., ON)

I have come across info that makes me believe that they are.

Thanks.

Hello Darlene
The cemeteries are all different cemeteries in different townships within the county of Leeds.
I did a quick search for you on the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid for cemeteries in Leeds I found the following:

Leheigh Cemetery is in Kitley twp., in Leeds County, Reference LG-7601
Anna / Henry

Leheigh Cemetery is in Kitley twp., in Leeds County, Reference LG-80-2-1
Anna / Genry
This could be the same as the LG-7601 (Looks like a misprint)

Brockville Old Protestant is in Elizabethtown twp., in Leeds County, Reference L&G-84-6
Anna

Athens Village Cemetery is in Rear of Yonge twp., in Leeds County, Reference L&G-84-5
Lewis (s/o Allura & S.A. Taplin) / S.A. / Susannah M. / W. H.

From here I searched my copy of the reference L&G-84-5
The following is from the Athens Village Cemetery:
#515 TAPLIN
S.A. TAPLIN born Jly 1, 1830 died March 21, 1908; Allura wife of S.A. TAPLIN died Sept 2, 1884 age 52 years 8 months 29 days; Clara M. MANHARD born Sept 8, 1862 died Nov. 19, 1890

#516 James H. ACKLAND 1867-1937; his wife Minnie TAPLIN 1868-1946

#517 Lewis son of Allura & s.A. TAPLIN died Feb. 2, 1856 age 2 years 7 months 4 days.

#518 W.H. TAPLIN

#519 Susannah M. TAPLIN

Hope this answers some of your questions.
If you email me directly I have some more information for you.

Hi Diane.....

Thanks for answering my msg. & all typing in all the info. (sent on the 15th). If you didn't get it, can you e-mail me & try it that way (e-mail address - dwnautomation@on.com)

The reason I asked about all 3 names being the one cemetery is -

I rec'd Henry Taplan's obit. from someone & it stated that the funeral was in Addison Methodist Church & the interment was in Taplin Cemetery (didn't give the twp. or co. but figured it must be in Leeds Co.).

I rec'd another msg. from Lorna listing Henry & Melinda Taplin's son Henry (which is the same Henry as the obit. above) was in Glen Elbe Cem (didn't give the twp. or co. but I figured it was in Leeds Co.)

Then in the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid -
Henry is listed in Leheigh (note some other place it was spelt Lehigh)

These all appear to be the same Henry Taplin we're talking about.

Very confusing. At least we know from all this, he appears to be definitely buried :-)

After your last msg saying to e-mail you, I sent you an e-mail. Did you get it?

Darlene
