William DAVIS, a 48 year old widower farmer of Yonge Front, Leeds South, had 4 daughters: Mary 21, Alice 18, Georgiana 16 and Emma 13, all listed as servants in the 1881 census. Does anyone know of this family or of Amanda DAVIS found as a 9 year old stray, born in 1871(?) living in Northumberland. I am trying to find the family of Amanda and have hit the old brickwall. .

My ggrandmother was Emma L. Davis born 1869 in Leeds county Ontario at a farm bordering Graham Lake.
She was the daughter of William Davis and Alice Davis ( ne Birdsall) and had at least one sister named Alice.
She married John Fadden Dec 28 1887 in Gananoque Ont.
I have much family history on the later Faddens but have no information on Emma or her parents. Is there a connection to your Davvis. Please reply. my e mail is garden@rogers.com

I am looking for the parents of Sarah Alice Davis, b. 8/25/1835 in White Pigeon, St. Joseph County, Michigan. She married John Hamm, then Mason "Doc" Hamm after John died. She is buried in Missouri. There may be an Ontario connection, but I haven't found it yet. Could she be in your Davis family?

Just curious. I have a Margaret Davis on my tree married to a Michael Slack. He probably would have been born in the 1860's. They had at least eight children.

Margaret Davis, who married Michael Slack, was a sister to my G-grandmother Mary Jane Davis Kidd, b. July 10,1861. My records suggest they were 2 of 8 children. Their parents were John Davis (b. abt. 1831) and Margaret Murphy (b. abt. 1839 in Co. Wexford, IRL). John Davis's parents were Richard Davis and Mary Hill, both born in Co. Cork, IRL. Margaret Murphy's parents were Thomas Murphy and Mary Kenny, both born in Co. Wexford, IRL. Margaret Murphy's sister, Mary Murphy married Richard James Davis, John Davis's brother. I would like to find more information on siblings and parents, and when they immigrated from Ireland.

I am more interested in finding out about the Murphy's and Kennys since they are both in our line. Do you have any more of the descendants of the Murphy or Kenny lines??? Brothers names etc??? I wouldn't mind an invite to your conners site if you have Kenny information on it. I have a Josiah Kenny who married a Mary Ann Thompson in Leeds, Seeley Bay area. Their son Richard Wesley Kenny married Norah Conklin and later moved to Port Huron, Michigan.

I checked my tree and could not find any of the names you gave. Do you have any other Kenny names?? There are no Kenny's on our site so I don't think you would find it useful. If you have any other info I will check for you. all our info starts with Joseph Kenny who married Susan McArdle. Don't know who his parents were. Susan's father was born in 1847 so figure she might have been born in 1870 or so.

I don't know if there is a connection here. Josiah Kenny was born about 1853 so he could be a sibling of your Kennys but I know nothing about his family or where he was born. I have that he died in Baie Ste. Anne which I find is in New Brunswick in Canada but have not proven that. His wife Mary Ann came from La Peche, Quebec so don't know how they met. On the internet I found that they were married in Seeleys Bay, Leeds Co, Ontario and that their children were all born there but can't prove that either so far. Their daughter Matilda Clara married a Young, Emma Jane married William Davies and son Richard Wesley married Nora Conklin and moved to Michigan. I found him there in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 census.
I guess all I can do is keep your email and see if someday I can make a connection if there is one.
I have a connection to the Hill name as well. Isabella Mullins married a Hill and lived in New York. They had a daughter Grace. That's all I have on them.
Also somewhere in this tree there was also a connection to Kidd. I believe one of the Mullins married a Kidd.
