Always glad to help.
Does Mary Eliz (Bethune) Grant's death registration give a father's name?
John Grant, Duldreggan 1737-1802 is my ancestor. John Grant and Caroline Grant had a son Alexander. I do not believe he is your man unless he had a 2nd family. Alpin, Alexander's youngest brother is my gr gr grandfather. I think I may know your Alexander's parents but I
need confirmation from Scotland. I don't want to say unless I am incorrect and the note goes viral.
Re: Jane/Janet Grant - I am going to check in the a Ross connection and see where that takes us.

Most Loyalists came up in the time of 1780-1800. If Jane/Janet is born in US, she would have been a babe or toddler when the family came up. I suspect she and her husband married in
Quebec Province which includes todays's Quebec and Ontario.

Thank you so much for your help. Unfortunately the death cert I found on line does not give parent info. It states: Mary Grant, d. 2 Feb 1891, Female, age 67, Farmer's wife, Charlottenburgh, #015259, Information provided by (son) Lawrence Gran, Glen Wallen, Presby.

I don't know if I ordered death cert 015259 if I would learn any thing else from it.

I don't believe John D. is my line either, but it is the only one that seems to be in ancestry.trees.

I found a Janet Ross married to a Bethune, but info says she was born in Canada, not U.S. So I am doubtful about that connection.

My thanks again. Your help is wonderful
