Hi Jay: That Dow family you know of is descended from Eleanor/Helen. Ellen Grant and Thomas. Their grandson Thomas Grant, son of James Alexander Dow, married Annie Grant, granddaughter of Alpin Grant of 25.4 Charlottenburgh. Yes it is all in the family. Alpin Grant would have been this Thomas Grant's grand uncle, as Alpin was uncle to his father James Alexander Dow. With this closeness of genes, I have been amazed that Annie Grant and Thomas Dow had as many kids whom lived to adult hood, Check the St Andrew's cemetery stone for the number.
Another thought has just come to me. A Henrietta Grant and Duncan Clark lived in Matilda Twp. I wonder if the Clarks in Charlottenburg are related.
