Yes, what I'm trying to determine is whether there were two Massey Clarks, aunt and niece, or only one (b. 1812 to John Clark and Mary Prentice) who has been mistakenly attached in numerous trees as a daughter of David Ellis Clark and Catherine Gallinger, birthdate on tombstone 1817. The 1812 Massey seems to have disappeared in records other than her baptism, while the 1817 Massey married Donald A. Grant and appears in censuses, etc. Do any documentary records exist which show the names of the parents of the Massey Clark who married Donald A. Grant or did someone mistakenly name her parents in a family tree which has been duplicated over and over by others? I suggested that the names of her parents might appear on her wedding or death record. It occurs to me that she might also appear in the will of David Ellis Clark if she is, indeed, his daughter-- if such a will exists. (No baptism for the 1817 Massey/ Mercy Ann in St. Andrew's, Williamstown, records, but there could be one elsewhere).
