Tal et al.
I am descended from Alexander son of Angus son of Allen of the Lundie line. I have some pages of Darby MacDonald's charts. I know Angus came from NY in1783 with 2 of his sons. Alexander and Peter. Angus died on the way. Peter was known as Red Peter and he married Henrietta King Mac Donald(?). Angus had other sons. I believe Angus etc. had setteled on Sir John Johnson's land. I think ar least Red Peter and maybe others were in the KRRNY as there is oral tradition for military service in my family.
I would like to know if they did serve in the French & Indian war or ( more likely the Rev war). Also how and when they came to NY. Could be the Pearl or the MacDonald out of Fort William. They lived in or around Corpach in the Knoydart area.
I saw reference in earlier posts to a list of people coming from Sir J J. Johnson's land as well as reference to a ships list site.can anyone steer me to those two sources or any others.
I would be grateful for any info on this family and would be glad to share what I have. I am in possession of an extensive chart going back to
Somedled and beyond prepared by my mother's cousin Monsiguer Ewan
MacDonald in 1939.
Thank you for any help you can give.
Heather.
