Re: 11 daughters of Duncan Ban MacMillan and Harriet Kennedy
Michael - thanks so much for your response. It got me looking a bit deeper and yes I think I missed a generation. I think I see now that Archibald married Isabel and had 9 children - one of whom was Duncan (born 1809 died 1880. Duncan married Mary (Oig) MacDonnell daughter of Donald MacDonnell of the 5th concession Lochiel in (1883). They had several children - among them was Angus Alex who married Sarah McDougall. I am positive that they are my great grandparents. They had 9 children (Hughie Archie (d1975); Cassie (m Bob Williamson); Mary Belle (m Eugene Corcoran); Sarah Anne (m Fred Jenks); Duncan Alex (d un-married); Stanley Alex (d un-married): Angela (m a Dr. Lachapelle); Edith (m John Hoke?); and Agnes (my grandmother) who married Alex Chisholm of Lochiel (my grandfather).
So it looks like I just need to insert that one step - i.e. Duncan (son of Archibald and Isabel) who married Mary McDonnell and had, among others, Angus A McMillan who married Sarah McDougald. (these would be my great grand-parents
Does this now make more sense?

Re: 11 daughters of Duncan Ban MacMillan and Harriet Kennedy
Thank you for your post. Curious... would you happen to recognize either of the gentlemen in the attached photograph... circa 1915-1920?

Re: 11 daughters of Duncan Ban MacMillan and Harriet Kennedy
Hello Lindsay; Yes ,I believe you have it now. I was wrong in all three possibilities for you, but I was glad to "stir the pot " a little , so to speak. and you dug deeper. --We are 5th cousins, as is James Allan MacDonald of this "Thread"-----Donna is 5th cousin to you to and 4th. cousin to me

Re: 11 daughters of Duncan Ban MacMillan and Harriet Kennedy
Hi, I know I'm adding to this thread quite late. I just wanted to say that I'm pretty sure that my line comes down through Roman John McMillan to Donald "the Black" McMillan, to Annie Mcmillan, my great grandmother. Sorry, I can't contribute much about the other daughters of Harriet Kennedy, but I was happy to find out that she was a strong example of survival. She must have been optimistic to undertake a huge move like that with all those children. Would anyone know which year/ship Roman John came on? thanks, Elaine

Re: 11 daughters of Duncan Ban MacMillan and Harriet Kennedy
I am not related but I am doing research on the family. This plaque is dedicated to Harriet Kennedy MacMillian in St. Finnan's Cemetery in Alexandria. I believe this is the same family
