Looking for information on subject Emma Elizabeth Wilcox. Her husband was William Henry Wilcox. They lived in Bancroft, Ont. Emma Committed suicide by hanging herself on
03 May 1916 in Bancroft. I cannot locate her in any cemetery around Bancroft.

William H. Wilcox remarried in 1917 and moved to the Oshawa area. He died in 1925 in Oshawa and is buried in the Union cemetery.

Any information regarding a possible burial place for Emma Elizabeth Wilcox would be appreciated.

I don't know where she is buried, but no minister would have buried someone who had committed suicide, so she may be in an unmarked grave either in a local cemetery or on the family farm. Death registration says she was from Prince Edward County, so perhaps you could check there as well.

Thanks for replying to my post.

Emma & Henry had four daughters. They were Philena, Addie, Ellen and Francis. They also had two sons, Wm. Verden (Werden) and Frank.

Philena married Philip Embury and settled in St. Ola. Addie married Edward McCutcheon and settled in the Peterborough area. Ellen married Charles S. McAllister and moved to B.C. Francis married David Kellogg and moved to Victoria Harbour.

I could not find any useful information regarding the two sons.

I talked to all four caretakers of cemeteries close to Bancroft and they could not find any record of Emma E. Wilcox being in a marked or unmarked grave.

I talked to the municipal office in Limerick Township (near St. Ola) and they could not find any record of Emma Wilcox being buried in a marked or unmarked grave in the three cemeteries within their jurisdiction.

I have not yet talked to the Baragar funeral home in Bancroft regarding old burial records. It is my understanding that these records could also have been shipped to the Board of Funeral Services in Toronto and could be in their archives.

Am still open to suggestions and direction.

The death registration does not have the information about where she is buried -- not asked at that time. No indication of coroner's report either.
