Hi. Eileen,
We exchanged posts back in Oct./Nov. I have found confirmation (from Michael Stephenson, Ontario Genealogy.com) that my William Hogg and Mary Ann Heron did get married in Reach Twp. (December 1859)by William Hurlburt. William's obit had said they got married in Titusville, Pa, but I have always had doubts about that. Mary Ann's parents did move to Titusville, Pa, but not until after they were married. I was hoping William Hogg's parents names or a Hodge witness would have been on the record, but it just said "Not Known". Bummer.
When I googled William Hurlburt he came up as a Baptist minister of Reach Twp. Although William Hogg and Mary Ann were Wesly. Methodist, apparently there must not have been a Wesly. Method. minister available. You said that was common for that to happen with baptisms, so is that also true for marriages in that time period? Do you know anything more about Rev. William Hurlburt?
Thanks.
Jon
