Thanks Eileen for your reply re: Reach Twp. churches. I was not aware of the on-line link to the Wesly. Meth. baptismal records so really appreciated receiving that even though the right Hogg children did not show up. However, I did look for William Hogg's wife, Mary Ann Heron and found her younger sister, Sarah, born 1843 Jan. 1 in Toronto to Adam and Hannah Heron. I am surprised that Mary Ann Heron (b. April 1840 in Toronto) did not show up nor did a sister Harriet (b. 1844 in Ontario) or a brother, George (b. 1845 in Ontario). In the 1851 Census, the Adam Heron family is in York Co., Markham twp., but in 1861 they too are in Reach Twp. Somewhere in there, Willaim Hodge (b. abt. 1835 in Toronto) met Mary Ann Heron. They married in 1859 in Titusville,PA (where some Heron siblings lived)and then moved back to Ontario, first showing up in Reach in the 1861 Census. In the 1871 Census they are living in Wellington Co., Peel Twp. That Census shows them to still be Wesly. Methodist. I also found a land record for them there. Family history indicates they were living near Glen Allan. But, in the 1881 Census (same basic location) they are shown as Presbyterian. (Hogg spelled as Hog). Is there an on-line record for Prebyterian births? I also checked the Wesly.Meth. records for the surname Hodge, because after the family moved to the U.S. (Iowa) soon after the 1881 Census, they became Hodge. I did not find them in the Wesly. Method. records. My reason for checking out birth records is that I cannot find the parent's names of William Hogg/Hodge as was hoping they might show up somewhere. All I know is that William H was born in Toronto about 1835 (obit)and that his parents came from Scotland. I did try searching for a William Hogg or Hodge in the Wesly. Meth. records but did not find one.
