I'm looking for infomation on a Hamilton family that was supposedly from Prescott County. The individual in particular is my Great X3 grandfather, William J. Hamilton. He later moved to Mille Roches in Stormont county and married Isabel Eliza Manson, daughter of Hector Manson and Eleanor Campbell.
William J. Hamilton died in 1847 by drowning in the canal at Cornwall but I'm not sure when he was born or who his parents were. I don't even know where he's buried. His wife was born in 1811 in Mille Roches and is buried with her daughter's family at Woodlawn Cemetery in Cornwall. She re-married after William's death.
William operated a tavern called Morgan's Inn in Mille Roches with his father-in law Hector Manson. William was also employed as a schoolmaster and as a merchant (different records indicate different occupations).
Does anyone have any information that might be helpful, I can't find any information on him in Stormont county records and I remember reading somewhere that his family was originally from Prescott county.
