We are trying to find my great-grandfather Benjamin Griffin who was born in Canada in 1875 to a Canadian girl (German origin) and Nathaniel Griffin fro Ireland. Nathaniel, James and Henry Griffin came to Ontario Canada in the 1870s. Nathaniel married a Canadian girl of German origin and had two children, Nathaniel and Sarah, both born in Canada. The wife died and the three brothers took the two children and came to the US, first to the Comstock Lode in Virginia City, Nevada and then to Jackson, Ca. in the Gold Country. Nathaniel died in 1899 and Ben had four children and then his wife died in 1906. We do not know what happened to Ben. The children were raised by relatives and it is possible Ben may have gone back to Canada since his mother's relatives were there. He may have gone back to Ontario. Are there any of Benjamin's mothers' relatives still in Ontario?
