My 5th ggfa., Ambrose Williams b. 1725 Wales is found on the Baptism and Confirmation for the Dead done by the LDS (Mormon) Church on 28 Aug. 1924 (Ontario, Canada). Apparently, the Mormon Ch. registered relatives, by proxy, who were members of the Anglican/Church of England of Colonial America. The entry for Ambrose Williams is: "Williams, Ambrose, lived about 1750 of Newport, Monmouth, Wales, Bur: 20 Jan 1793, Rel.". 20 Jan 1793 is not the actual burial of Ambrose Williams, but his relative, Thomas Williams who may have been his brother? Named as proxy is Birgham Young Williams who was the living person who actually entered this info. for his Wiliams ancestors.
Would like contact with anyone who is related to this Williams Family and will be willing to do lookups on this long list of Williams' who were born in Wales/England but migrated to early America.
