Some time has passed since I first began searching for Henry Robinson, who was a successful farmer in Kingston Township, after about 1831. In 1878 he owned 95 acres and in 1861 he was the census enumerator. His wife was Catherine McMahon, and they were the parents of 10 children: Thomas Henry, John James, Eliza Ann, Stephen, Jane, Edmund, Joseph Edward, Theressa, William George and Lucy Maria.
There is conflicting information "out there" regarding Henry's birth and death. Some researchers aver that he was born in 1814 Hull, Yorkshire; had a second wife, Mary Ann Mills, and died in Ohio 6 April 1899. I have never been able to find evidence in Ohio of a second marriage or his death there. I believe Catherine McMahon Robinson is the "Mrs. Robinson" who died in Kingston 10 Jan. 1889. I have not been able to find a death record for Henry in Ontario. I cannot find Catherine or Henry in the OCFA. If anyone has any further knowledge of Henry or this family, please get in touch with me. My evidence seems to point to Henry's being born in England, place unknown, in 1816. I wonder if there would be a newspaper index or extraction which might shed further light on Henry. Thank you!
