Ontario Orphanage - Mt Hope - Katie ???

Surnames: Holmes, unknown
How does one get a list of Orphanes who went through Mt St Hope Orphanage - My 2nd Great Grand Mother was adopted from/born in Ontario Jan or May of 1879. Adopted by a Holmes family. I'm not even sure if her birth name was Katie or if it was changed at her adoption. I'm looking for more info on her....One census she writes her parents native tongue was Gaelic. I find her as the adopted daughter of a Holmes family in Census info but would like to find out more about her. Marriage licence and other census she has parents unknown. If I could find an orphanage record for her I'm hoping they might have kept that info on her. Any assistance is very much appreciated!!!

Hi, History of Mt. St. Hope - Orphanage - hospital
https://www.sjhc.london.on.ca/your-st-josephs/about-us/our-h...

There is a contact address -
They may have knowledge of if and where - early records are kept
Perhaps ? Provincial Archive - may hold early records

Your GGrandmother - was born ? - at Mt Hope Orphanage ? Perhaps there is an original Baptism record - How old was she when she was adopted ?

Thank you - I was able to obtain a phone # for the Archivist who has sent me forms for completion to obtain information. All I know is that she "Katie" was born in Jan. or May of 1859 in Ontario. Census records have her as house keeper and 10yrs later "adopted daughter" of a Holmes family in Ontario. On marriage records and other census documents she has her parents listed as "Unknown" However, one of those census' she lists her parents native tongue as Gaelic. Whether or not she's referring to the Homes family or her birth parents is unknown. Searching for Orphanages in Ontario in 1859 Mt Hope was what I found. So, I'm hopeful!

Thank you so much for the link as that was how I made my initial contact. They referred me to the Archivist.
