James H Bennett born Feb 14, 1836 and wife Mary (Lee) born July 7 1841, daughter of Robert Lee. I have been at a brick wall on this family for a long time and recently found where the sons mentioned being born in Yarmouth Ontario and Westminster Ontario.

They are found on the 1861 census in Westminster Twp, Middlesex Co, Ontario with sons Henry age 3, and Thomas age 1. By 1869/1870 they will move to Port Huron Michigan.

In the old marriage records of Elgin co it seems James H Bennett of Yarmouth was a witness to the July 3, 1856 wedding of James Lee and Harriet Bennett. I am hoping this will help tie the family together.

I would be very grateful to anyone who might be able to provide some more information on the Bennett and Lee families residing in Middlesex Co or Eglin Co Ontario.
