interested? oh my YES i am interested. i have researched on this family for about 35 years. i stopped in between to raise a family and then there were grand kids and then one day i awoke in my dotage with little eyesight. and began again. because of health issues i can no longer spend the hours researching as i did years ago before there was the internet to help. so ANYTHING you can share with me would be a HUGE DEAL. I WOULD LIKE TO GO TO MY GRAVE FIGURING OUT THIS LINE.
the stories have been passed down through a long dead family. my ggf was andre (andrew jackson precure) b. july 1837. listed both parents as canadian. we were told he was a lumberman/fur trapper. (aren't all french canadians that?) we were told his father was in the war and swore alligance to england. we were told he was an orphan surviving some horrid house fire on a farm that killed the rest of his family. and yet on some scrap of paper tucked behind some obsure family photo was the listing of andrew's family. john 1836, andre 1837, elizabeth 1838, margaret 1841, leahum, 1844,martha 1847.....and julia? i kept going into 3 rivers also and then found the niagra connection. i don't think we were from the dits or the vannesse but who knows. ANYTHING YOU HAVE WOULD BE BETTER THAN WHAT I HAVE!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW ANDREW MARRIED MARY ANTOINETTE TRASK IN ABOUT 1866 IN WARREN CO. PA. she was orphaned also. well...not really..but something happened to her that was hush hush and sad . i know her mother died and left 4 little girls. the other three were adopted out to wealthy families and did well. one sister became one of the first amcn female drs. in foo chow china (sigourney trask cowles).
her father was rufus elliot trask , was an attorney and traveled for years living in various places. i have letters of communication between all the sisters other than my grandmother. children were named but antoinetees name was never passed on. we were told she had a very hard life...and yet the other 3 had lives of privilege. somehow andrew and a lewis prechure wound up in warren.is lewis andrews father?
as i said i am now in my dotage and i was the youngest great grandchild born (1948) from the youngest grandchild (12 children) so my knowledge is quite limited as many were dead before i turned 20.
i am determined to find out as much about this mystery before i croak and i hope your info may be the magic key. thank you for responding and thank you in advance for any or all you will sharte. you have made my day!!!!!!!! inasu
