I agree that John Comer bca 1790 is the son of Paul Comer and Phebe. I was thinking that even though John was given land in Darlington, he's not on the census for 1842 or 1851. So I'm thinking he probably sold the land. If he did, then the name of his wife, if any, should be on the deed. I just had a quick look at the land sale resources for Ontario. Will have to go back and really work through them later today but that's my best "research guess" as to how to track ownership of that land. Of course, he may have died also but if he did in that 1820-1850 time frame, I can't find it, :-(
