Hi, your information is so close to mine, we may be related. My gg-grandfather was John Knight Nesbitt from County Cavan, Ireland.. He married a Jane Cody or Cady. They had several children, Thomas, Henry, Robert, George,Richard, Clarence. I am descended from Henry, born 1845 in Sherrington,Quebec, Canada. He married Nellie Saunders and they had several children. I am understanding that John had brothers, Henry and Humphrys.I'm told John is buried in Hemmingford. I also have a great- Uncle, Jay Irwin Nesbitt. They are the connection, I believe you are looking for? Feel free to contact me.

I have lots of info on the McQuade/McQuaid family, and some on their links to Nesbitt and Mahood. Would like to learn more about these two families if anybody can help. I know one couple moved from Cartwright Township to Kincardine area; others remained in Durham and Victoria counties, Ontario. alan richards, alanr@rogers.com

Hi, I recently found out that the old fieldstone farm house that I am living in, situated on Lot 16 Concession 4, on Thornton Road in what was then called East Whitby Township, was originally owned by James Nesbitt. We have a little information about the history of previous owners, and are hoping to find old historical photographs of the house. Would you possibly have any? Any would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Regards, John

I am searching for Nesbitt ancestors in Clarke Township area. The family story has my GG Grandfather, James and his sister Ann spending some time there before leaving for Blyth area where they cleared a farm. They came out from Ireland and James' death certificate states he was born in Co Tyrone. Blyth is about 15 miles from Goderich on Lake Huron and Kincardine is north of Goderich on the lake. Although I never knew of any other siblings, Ann's obituary mentioned a brother John in the Port Hope area. I am trying to find the right John. Any help would be appreciated...Brenda brendajim@ymail.com
