Is anyone looking for this group of families that emigrated from Ireland to Manvers in two waves, one in 1843 and the second in 1849?
William Kerr and wife Mary Hyndman Kerr as well as Oliver McCrea/McCrae and wife Elizabeth Hyndman McCrea/McCrae emigrated in 1843, county in Ireland unknown. Oliver McCrea settled on 7/16 in Manvers in 1847. Both families are linked through baptisms.
In 1849 a Hyndman family headed by George Hyndman and wife Jane Gillis Hyndman emigrated to Manvers, as did David Kerr and wife Margaret Hyndman Kerr. An Andrew Kerr married Martha Hyndman in Manvers in 1849.
By 1861 the majority of these family members had migrated to Bruce county and between 1871-1881 most had migrated again to Manitoba and lived out their years in the Gladstone/Neepawa/Plumas area.
Common names in the Hyndman family : George, Jane. William, Ann, Catherine, David, John.
Common names in the Kerr family: David, William, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Eleanor, James, John, George, Jane.
The McCrea surname is used on baptismal documents in the mid 1840's but the family name is documented primarily as McCrae in Manitoba. Names on the McCrea/McCrae side are Elizabeth, George, Jane, Mary Ann, John, Martha, James, William, Joseph, Margaret.
